Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from Abroad

Need a police clearance certificate from Bangladesh while working in the Gulf or Malaysia — or for onward migration to Canada, the UK or Australia? Apply online, pay the ৳500 challan, and follow the four steps below.

The 4-step official process

1

Online registration

Register at pcc.police.gov.bd using your active Bangladeshi mobile number. Abroad without a BD SIM? Authorise a relative at home — their number receives the OTP and they complete your entry.

2

Pay the ৳500 challan

The portal auto-generates your challan with fee code 1-2211-0000-2041. Pay ৳500 through Sonali e-Sheba or the A-Challan app, then upload the receipt.

3

Thana / SB verification

Your local thana police and the Special Branch verify the permanent address at your home village or union — a relative should be reachable there to confirm details.

4

MoFA / consular authentication

The verified certificate is authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (or the mission abroad) and carries a digital QR code for scan-verification.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a PCC from abroad take?

Typical end-to-end time is 10–21 working days after challan payment, depending on thana verification speed. Gulf and Malaysia applications in visa-change season take longest — apply early.

Can I apply without a Bangladeshi mobile number?

Yes. The OTP goes to the number entered at registration, so use a trusted relative's active BD number and submit the authorisation letter above.

Do I need the certificate attested by the embassy?

For most onward-migration uses the QR-verified digital copy is accepted. Some Gulf employers still ask for a mission-attested hard copy — confirm with whoever requested it.
