Avro Phonetic Bangla Typing — Write Bangla in English

Type Bangla instantly using English letters with the Avro Phonetic method. Full offline conversion in your browser, no installation needed.

How it works

Avro Phonetic is the typing method popularised by the free OmicronLab keyboard: you spell Bangla words with English letters (ami, bhalo, kotha) and the rules convert them to Bangla (আমি, ভালো, কথা) as you type.

The conversion runs live as you type and also works fully offline once the page is loaded. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

This tool uses the open-source JS Avro Phonetic engine, the same rule set behind the popular Avro keyboard for Windows.

Frequently asked questions

How do I type my name in Bangla?

Just spell it in English letters, for example "rahim" becomes রহিম and "dhaka" becomes ঢাকা. The output updates as you type.

Is this the same Avro keyboard I use on Windows?

It uses the same phonetic rules and engine, so the results match what the OmicronLab Avro keyboard produces for the same spelling.

Can I use the result on Facebook or WhatsApp?

Yes. Click Copy Bangla and paste anywhere. The output is standard Unicode Bangla that every phone and website displays correctly.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in the browser on any device, including phones and tablets.
