Permesso, Nulla Osta & the Italian Civic Desk
Permesso di Soggiorno: Kit Giallo & Questura status
Renewals inside Italy are filed with the yellow postal kit (Kit Postale Giallo) at any Poste Italiane sportello with an insured envelope. Keep the 12-digit Numero Assicurata receipt — you check progress on the Portale Immigrazione (poliziadistato.it) with that receipt number, and the same portal shows your fingerprints (fotosegnalamento) appointment and 'documento in trattazione' status at your Questura.
Nulla Osta: bringing your family (ricongiungimento familiare)
Apply at the Sportello Immigrazione of your Prefettura with: (1) Idoneità Alloggiativa — a house suitability certificate from your Comune sized for your family; (2) proof of annual income — as an indicative guide plan for at least €10,500 for a spouse plus about €3,500 per child (confirm the current Ministerial Decree thresholds, which change yearly); (3) after the Nulla Osta is issued, the family applies through VFS Global in Dhaka with nikahnama, birth certificates and legalised translations.
SPID, Codice Fiscale & Tessera Sanitaria
Your 16-character Codice Fiscale (tax code) comes from the Agenzia delle Entrate — you need it for work, rent and health. Open a SPID digital identity (via PosteID or another accredited provider) to log in to INPS, the Revenue Agency and health services, then register with your ASL to get a family doctor (medico di base) and the Tessera Sanitaria health card.
INPS Assegno Unico: monthly child benefit
Every child living in Italy is entitled to the Assegno Unico e Universale, roughly €57 to €199 per month per child depending on your ISEE — the lower your ISEE, the higher the payout. Applications run through INPS with your SPID; a CAF / Patronato office helps free of charge and many in Rome, Milan and Bologna serve you in Bangla.
Remittance with the 2.5% government incentive
Send euros home through legal channels (RIA, Western Union, Placid Express, TapTap Send or your bank) and Bangladesh Bank credits the 2.5% cash incentive directly to your family's account. At a spot rate of €1 = ৳131.25 the effective rate becomes ৳134.53.
Community Directory
A verified directory of Bengali-speaking CAF / Patronato consultants, sworn translators, cargo services, halal shops and community associations across Rome (Tor Pignattara), Milan (Via Padova), Venice Mestre, Bologna and Palermo is being assembled. Listings require a valid Partita IVA and proof of professional registration.
