Drive on your Bangladesh licence for up to 12 months from becoming a resident. Bangladesh is a non-designated country — no direct swap: apply for a DVLA provisional licence before month 12 expires, then pass the theory and practical tests.

Gold & silver limits
Personal gold ornaments are fully duty-free per passenger; a maximum of 12 pieces of any single design is allowed.
Bars and bullion are never duty-free: mandatory tax of ৳4,000 per 11.664 g (tola) — ৳40,000 on a 10-tola bar. Bars over 117 g are liable to confiscation.
Electronics & mobiles
- Smartphones: 2 personal phones duty-free; a 3rd is dutiable (25–57%). BTRC IMEI registration on arrival is mandatory.
- Laptops / tablets: 1 laptop or PC and 1 tablet duty-free; professional gear needs an employer certificate.
- Televisions: up to 29" duty-free; 30–42" ৳3,000; 43–50" ৳6,000; 51–55" ৳10,000 — settled at the customs cash counter.
