Canada PR and Citizenship Days Tracker

Track your physical presence in Canada toward citizenship (1,095 days in 5 years) and PR card renewal (730 days in 5 years). Log trips, add planned travel, and see your earliest eligibility dates. Everything stays in your browser.

Trips outside Canada

Your trip log is saved only in this browser (localStorage) — nothing is uploaded anywhere. This is an estimate to plan with; IRCC makes the official count at application time.

How it works

Canadian citizenship needs 1,095 days of physical presence inside the 5 years (1,825 days) immediately before you apply. The tracker counts your days in that rolling window and shows the progress toward the target.

PR card renewal needs 730 days of presence in Canada within any 5-year window. Both progress bars update as you add trips — days outside Canada are subtracted from the window.

Time in Canada before becoming a PR — on a study or work permit — counts as half days toward citizenship, up to a 365-day credit, and only while it falls inside the 5-year window.

Add planned trips before they happen to see how they push your earliest application date, so a long visit home never quietly breaks your eligibility.

Frequently asked questions

How many days do I need for Canadian citizenship?

1,095 days of physical presence within the 5 years (1,825 days) immediately before the date you apply, after becoming a PR. Part of a day in Canada counts as a full day for presence, and absences are what subtract from your total.

How many days does a PR card renewal need?

730 days of physical presence in Canada within every 5-year period. This tracker checks the 5 years ending on your chosen date, so you can also test a future renewal date.

Do my student years count for citizenship?

Yes, at half value: each day physically present before PR counts as 0.5 days, credited up to a maximum of 365 days, and only while those days fall within the last 5 years.

Will a long trip home break my PR status?

It can if it drops you below 730 days in the 5-year window. Add the trip as a planned one with its dates and the tracker shows the effect on both the citizenship date and the PR requirement.

Is my data private?

Yes. The trip log lives in your own browser via localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server, and clearing your browser data erases it.
